Questo è il testo di Get On Your Boots. Dalle parole che ho evidenziato si direbbe che un’evoluzione sia davvero imminente. Come ho avuto modo di dire brevemente in qualche commento, il pezzo a me piace molto, nonostante la sensazione di già sentito che pervade un po’ musica e testo (vuoi il chaki-chaki alla Vertigo della chitarra durante la strofa, vuoi il ritornello con parole simili a City of Blinding Lights).

Per chi ancora non l’avesse sentita, la canzone è ascoltabile gratuitamente a questo indirizzo. Per chi, invece, volesse suonarla, qua c’è una tablatura per chitarra di buona qualità.

Aspettiamo con trepidanza il 2 marzo.

MUSICA: U2, DA LUNEDI’ IN RADIO NUOVO SINGOLO ‘GET ON YOURS BOOTS’

Roma, 14 gen. – (Adnkronos) – “Get On Your Boots” e’ il titolo del nuovo singolo degli U2 che da lunedi’ 19 gennaio sara’ in programmazione su tutte le radio italiane. Il singolo e’ il primo estratto da “No Line On The Horizon”, il nuovo album della band di Bono Vox di prossima uscita.

Scritto e registrato in diversi studi, “No Line On The Horizon” e’ il dodicesimo album di studio e segue il successo mondiale di “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb”, pubblicato alla fine del 2004 e che ha venduto nove milioni di copie.

Le registrazioni di “No Line On The Horizon” sono cominciate a Fez in Marocco lo scorso anno. Sono proseguite a Dublino nello studio della band, a New York presso il Platinum Sound Recording Studio e sono state completate all’Olympic Studio di Londra. L’album e’ prodotto da Brian Eno e Danny Lanois con la collaborazione di Steve Lillywhite.

Partendo dal presupposto che peggio di All That You Can’t Leave Behind non può essere, e che quelli di How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb non erano certo gli U2 che vorrei sentire, mi sento fiducioso per questo nuovo disco: il titolo non mi fa impazzire, ma del resto anche Achtung Baby! come titolo non mi diceva granché. Mi auguro, insomma, che si ripeta quanto successo nel ‘91, quando gli U2 si reinventarono dopo due dischi mediocri (Ricordo che io non impazzisco per The Joshua Tree e Rattle And Hum, evitate commenti in merito, grazie), con risultati a dir poco straordinari. Ora abbiamo altri due dischi mediocri, speriamo che quel trio di produttori (una garanzia) faccia loro seguire un nuovo miracolo.

PS per Claudio. Prometto che metterò da parte ogni pregiudizio e valuterò questo disco serenamente .
